Saliva testing reliably
identifies hormone imbalances.
Hormones exist in harmony with
each other. When levels of each
hormone are in the right
proportions, body systems are
stable. When balance is lost,
hormone deficiencies and
excesses can become harmful to
the body causing unwanted
symptoms, disorders and disease.
Saliva Hormone Testing is a
convenient, inexpensive, and
accurate means of testing
your body's free hormones, without having
to make a visit to the doctor’s
office. Saliva testing can be
done anywhere and anytime.
Testing that relies on blood
drawn in the doctor’s office
makes it harder to obtain
samples at specific times, such
as early in the morning or
multiple times during the day.
Hormones in saliva are
exceptionally stable and can be
stored at room temperature for
up to a week without affecting
the accuracy of the result. This
offers flexibility in sample
collection and shipment.
Hormones in saliva reflect the
portion of circulating hormones
in the bloodstream that are
unbound by serum-binding
proteins and therefore are able
to enter tissues throughout the
body. The salivary-hormone
values, therefore, reflect the
biologically active portion
available to target cells. Blood
hormone tests reflect both bound
and free forms of hormones and
do not provide information about
the bio-available fraction of
hormones, which can vary
depending on the level of blood-hormone-binding-proteins.
Simply put, hormone saliva
testing tells us the amount of
hormones in our body that are
actually usable by our cells;
whereas blood testing evaluates
all circulating hormones
regardless of their availability
to our cells.
